After the service: who sustains the open church?

Thirty architecture graduates are devising new uses for five churches in the Ruhr region. But Bochum’s Christ-König-Kirche shows that a compelling spatial concept does not yet answer who will pay for conversion and running costs — or who will keep the doors open.
